Bunny is RSPA Master Professional and has been teaching and coaching for over 45 years. She has served on the Missouri Valley RSPA board for over 15 years. She also held office as a RSPA National Vice-President from 2009–2011 and works on countless national committees.
Bunny was honored with the Alex Gordon RSPA Professional of the year in September of 2025 at the RSPA World Conference. She had also been inducted into the RSPA MV Hall of Fame.
She is a Specialist in Competitive Player Development (High Performance Coach) and Mental Toughness. She has also been selected as the RSPA MV Professional of the Year award five times along with the Lessons for Life, Continuing Education, Iowa Pro of the Year awards and the RSPA MV Hall of Fame. Bunny is the CD in the division for tennis and pickleball.
Bunny started WCRS (Women Coaching Racquet Sports) in Sept of 2023 and is currently the President. The mission is to educate, mentor, engage and inspire more females to become coaches in racquet sports. She gathered a 17-person Board plus Advisors and Ad Hoc members. She also speaks at various divisions, workshops, and high schools.
Bunny retired Nov 15, 2024 from 42 years of being the Tennis Director at Wakonda Club. She continues to teach as well as organizes the West Des Moines Park program in the summer and owns Bunny’s First Serve pro shop. She also started Bunny’ Buddies last year which is a free tennis program for the mentally and physically challenged adults and youth. Recently, she has also arranged a summer Middle School learn and play program for 11 area schools.
Since the fall of 2024, she was awarded the Champions of Equality award in New York for Missouri Valley along with the Hall of Fame award for Iowa Tennis. In February, Bunny was again presented with the RSPA Missouri Valley Professional of the Year.
She played on the WTA professional tour for 9 years and acquired rankings of #41 in singles and #11 in doubles.
Bunny is also the President of the CTA, Central Iowa Tennis Alliance, which she founded in 1996, a Past-President of the Iowa Tennis Association. Married to Marla Frantum, they live out in the country with 5 acres and 7 cats!
